The Winter holidays have such a glorious assortment of folklore and creatures. Sure, it’s fun to joke about Santa being a home intruder or sweatshop overseer, but that’s just bleh and uninspired. Thankfully some other entities have been getting more recognition thanks to the internet. Krampus* has definitely been getting some spotlight. As has Mary Lwyd in certain pockets of social media. Yule Cat was a new one for me last year. I figured it’d fun to weird-ify some standard Xmas staples and pay homage to some of the folklore at the same time. I figure right. *Still note sure how I feel about that Santa-fied design from that one Krampus movie. Even though I did have fun drawing it for a commission.
